I have arrived at my own sound. TR٨NSP٥RT, my 16th album, is both brutal & wistful. 6 original and 2 traditional songs represent a defiant opposition to marginalization, and a demand for free mobility. This album features my lyrical acoustic & electric buzuq, fretless guitar, drum kit work, and songs about belonging in diaspora, the fight against envy, and the future of folklore. The music transports us between cultures, delivering us to a transposed impression of ourselves.
I also designed the album cover. It consists of the Khamsa Hand of Fatma juxtaposed & transposed with the Corna Horns Hand. They are both employed to deter jealousy and envy, a process which is poetically explained in depth on my song EVIL EIN, which is song #3 on this new Transport album.
This 30 minute video delivers the entire transportation experience, with all songs and lyrics in one sequential sitting. The 8 music videos were produced, filmed and edited entirely by me.
This digital album is now only available on the Bandcamp platform. Bandcamp is great for the listener who gets the option of downloading high-quality sound files, in addition to streaming. It is especially great for the artist because there are no middle-people (such as evil spotify & amazon) who exploit the artist by usurping the majority of the sale. This way the artist keeps the entire sale, which funds them to make more music for you in the future. It is the most altruistic and supportive way for a fan to reward the actual music creators.
